Baetz Continues Winning Run in Alaska IronKids

Arno Baetz won again in the 2014 Alaska IronKids by ruling the 13-14 boys category at the Shangri-La Mactan Resort & Spa Saturday, August 2.

Baetz clocked in at 31:31.8 in the 13-14 years old boys category of the Alaska IronKids. Yuan Chiongbian came in second with a time of 32:12.1 while Brent Valelo was third with 32:41.7.

Nicole Danielle Eijansantos came in first in the 13-14 years old girls category with a time of 34:46.5. Lauren Justine Plaza came in second with a time of 35:53.7 while Aaliyah Mataragnon came in third with a time of 36:24.4.
Samantha Borlain ruled the 11-12 years old category timing in at 35:00 which was 45.9 seconds faster than the time of the winner in the boys category Juan Francisco Baniqued. Borlain’s younger sister Tara checked in second in the girls category with a time of 36:42 while Everly Janarie Macalalad was third with 37:54.

Samantha beat younger sister Tara for the first time after several years of competition in the Alaska IronKids.
“I just gave my best. Tara did too. We just enjoyed ourselves during our race. It’s still just for fun,” said Samantha.

For her part Tara was happy for the success of her sister.

“I’m just really happy that my sister experienced winning over me. This really happens in real life. You win some and you lose some. So I’m very happy for my sister,” said Tara.

Joe Bernard Sarmiento was second in the boys with a time of 36:32.4 while Juris Aaron Earl Tan was third with a time of 36:42.6.

Juan Miguel Tayag took home top honors in the 6-8 years old boys with a time of 19:52. Justin Christopher Yu came in a close second with a tie of 19:58 while Jose Maria Tayag was third with 20:12.

Justicia Mariearl Tan was first in the 6-8 years old girls category with her time of 21:57. Dhexia Myle Bersabal was second with 22:51 while Alethea Paige Gaccion was third with a time of 22:54.

Nine-year-old Hyonde Keum won the 9-10 years old boys category with a time of 17:30. Eduard Russell So was second with a time of 17:38 while Abel Te Rielle was third with a time of 17:49.

Syrah Ruth Uy was first in the 9-10 years old girls category with a time of 18:30. Samantha Nalo came in second with a time of 18:58 while Danica Mikaela Alba was third with a time of 19:14.

Jose Atienza completed the Play Long Distance boys category with a time of 54:30. Andrea Faith Santos completed the Play Long Distance Girls Category with a time of 1:03:14.

Winning the Play Short Distance Boys was Noah Vernon with a time of 24:16. Marco Jacob Magnaye was second with 33:32 while James Matthew Dinglasan was third with a time of 38:53.

Celine Maniquiz submitted a time of 26:12 in the Play Short Distance Girls category.
